Most New York dinner cruises spend two and a half to three hours on the Hudson and East Rivers with a meal, music and the skyline after dark. City Cruises' Signature buffet boat starts from $119 and its glass-enclosed Bateaux from $171 on Viator in October 2026, both from Pier 61 at Chelsea Piers. The boats sail past the Statue of Liberty without landing; for time on the island, see Statue of Liberty cruises.
How to choose
Three dinner boats carry most of the reviews. They differ in how dinner is served, what plays and how dressed up the room is. Prices and ratings are on Viator in October 2026.
The City Cruises Signature Dinner Cruise (from $119, 4.16 from 1,407 reviews) serves a buffet of entrees, salads and desserts in a climate-controlled dining room, with a DJ, games and open-air roof decks. A table for the party is guaranteed. Coffee, tea, iced tea and water are included; cocktails, wine and beer come from a cash bar. Dress is casual: nice jeans and khakis are fine.
The Bateaux Premier Dinner Cruise (from $171, 4.41 from 1,485 reviews) serves a three-course plated dinner on a glass-enclosed boat, with a vocalist and an acoustic band. It boards at 6:15 pm and sails from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. The dress code is semi-formal and enforced: no casual jeans, t-shirts or sandals, and no children under 6. Drinks beyond coffee, tea and water are extra here too.
The New York City Dinner Cruise with Live Music (from $156, 4.0 from 596 reviews) sails for three hours on the Louisa of the Seas. Its five-course plated dinner runs from a charcuterie board through salad, seafood and entree to dessert, at a private table, with live music, unlimited soft drinks and one beer or wine ticket. A VIP upgrade, for 22 people a night, moves the table to the top deck with six courses, caviar and two cocktails. Gratuities are extra.
The route
All three sail both rivers and name the same sights: the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, One World Trade Center, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building. The Signature route adds the Intrepid and the Chrysler Building. The Louisa of the Seas passes under the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges and pauses in front of the Statue for photos.
No dinner boat lands on Liberty Island or Ellis Island. What a dinner cruise adds is the lit-up skyline with a seated meal. To walk on Liberty Island, see Statue of Liberty cruises; for a shorter sightseeing trip with no meal, see NYC harbor cruises.
Which pier
Two New Year's Eve sailings board elsewhere in October 2026: the NYC New Year's Eve Fireworks Cruise aboard the Nautical Empress at Pier 81, and the New Year's Eve Fireworks Cruise with Open Bar & Buffet Dinner at Pier 78. For any other sailing, the pier on the ticket is the one to trust.
Lunch and brunch
The same skyline by day comes cheaper. The Signature Lunch Cruise is a two-hour buffet with a DJ from $85 (4.31 from 210 reviews), and the Bateaux Premier Lunch Cruise adds a live pianist from $100. The New York Harbor Brunch Cruise (from $140, 4.72 from 115 reviews) spends 2.75 hours on a 1920s-style yacht, with a three-course brunch of bagels, frittata and smoked salmon and one drink included. The cheapest dining cruise on the page is the NYC Bottomless Brunch Cruise, two hours from $79 (4.4 from 30 reviews).
Holidays add their own sailings on Viator in October 2026: a Thanksgiving buffet dinner from $199, Christmas Day from $159 for a plated brunch and $257 for a plated dinner, and New Year's Eve cruises from $239 to $699 per person.
Every one on Viator
The list is ordered by review count, most reviewed first, with prices read on 25 October 2026. The filters narrow it to evening sailings and by length.
