Broadway pricing rewards either commitment (advance seats, exact show and date locked) or flexibility (day-of discounts, any show that has seats). The mistake is being in the middle — wanting one specific show but hoping to get it cheap on the day. For visitors on a fixed itinerary, advance is usually right: a missed show doesn't reschedule around a flight home.
